Philomusica to offer Christmas concerts

Philomusica, an auditioned community choir, will present a-capella Christmas concerts at 8 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 4 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 1740 Route 130, North Brunswick.

The program will feature two New Jersey premieres: Palestrina's "Magnificat Quarti Toni" and Britten's "Christ's Nativity," written when the composer was just 19 years old. Seasonal selections by Spanish composer Tomás Vittoria and German composer Hans Hassler and traditional carols will complete the program. Dennis Boyle is the choir's music director.

Tickets cost $7-$16 in advance, an additional $2 at the door. Free accessible parking will be available.
