• Book Fair, sponsored by the Lawrence Brook Elementary School PTA, East Brunswick, at Barnes and Noble, Brunswick Square Mall, Route 18, East Brunswick. Story time with special readers; various activities from 5-8 p.m. Patrons, who may shop at any time, should mention Lawrence Brook School to the cashier at check out. The store will donate a percentage of supporters' purchases to the PTA.

• Gloria Kelley Day, hosted by The Cambridge Inn, 19 Summerhill Road, Spotswood, to acknowledge Kelley, a teacher at Immaculate Conception School, Spotswood, as an honoree at the upcoming Spotlight Dinner for Catholic Education in the Diocese of Metuchen. Diners are asked to present the newspaper announcement of the Cambridge Inn event to their server. The restaurant will then donate 15 percent of supporters' bills to Immaculate Conception School to underwrite the Spotlight Dinner.

• Adopt-A-Family, sponsored by the South River Elementary School PTA, to make the holiday season more enjoyable for disadvantaged children in South River. • Fresh Pierogi and Blintz Sale, sponsored by St. Stanislaus Kostka Rosary Altar Society, Sayreville. Available pierogi: cheese (low sugar), cottage cheese, potato, potato and cheese, sauerkraut, sauerkraut and mushroom, potato and sweet cabbage, more. • Holiday Grave-Blanket Sale, sponsored by St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society, South River. Cost is $22 for a 36-inch blanket decorated with pine cones, poinsettias, bow. • Jersey Cares Coat Drive, sponsored by the Goddard School of South Old Bridge, drop off from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the school, 1480 Englishtown Road, Old Bridge. Seeking donations of gently used, clean coats. Contributions will be given to New Jersey families in need. The goal of Jersey Cares is to collect 20,000 coats for residents, including children and senior citizens, who would otherwise face the winter without warm coats. • Jersey Cares Coat Drive, sponsored by Dr. Debra DeMarco of Monroe Chiropractic Care and Gini Mundy of The Well Being, both Jamesburg. • Toys for Tots Collection, conducted by the career and volunteer firemen of Applegarth Station No. 57, Monroe. Drop off from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, at the firehouse, 130 Applegarth Road. New, unwrapped toys sought for needy children throughout New Jersey. Dec. 1

• Holiday Bazaar, sponsored by the Lawrence Brook School PTA, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the school, 48 Sullivan Way, East Brunswick. Holiday store for students and parents, homemade bake sale, food court, raffles, 50/50, theme baskets. Vendors include PartyLite Gifts, Discovery Toys, Stamp-It Up, Pocketbooks, Beaded Jewelry, Pampered Chef, more.

• Gift Auction, sponsored by Trinity United Methodist Church, doors open at 4 p.m., event begins at 5 p.m., at the church, 70 Manalapan Road, Spotswood. Merchandise includes theme gift baskets, home décor, household items, collectibles, art, gift certificates, toys, more. Refreshments available. • Clothing Drive, sponsored by the Bowne-Munro Elementary School PTA, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the school, 120 Main St., East Brunswick. Old and unused clothes, shoes, sheets and towels sought. Arrangements for pickup may be made by calling Jodi Cumber at (732) 257-4479. Drive will help the less fortunate and earn money for the school.

• Holiday Bazaar, sponsored by St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the church, 505 Main St., Spotswood. Photos with Santa, children's craft room, vendors and crafters offering new merchandise, food, homemade cookie table, raffles. .

• Foolish Spaghetti: A "Pa-Sketti" Dinner, presented by The Fools for Christ of the Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg, dinner served from 4-6 p.m., Fools Wonderful Wacky Auction at 7 p.m., in the church fellowship hall, Gatzmer Avenue at Church Street. Menu includes "pa-sketti" (spaghetti), meatballs, salad, bread, dessert, beverage. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for youngsters ages 5-12; children under age 5 admitted free of charge.

• Tricky Tray, sponsored by the New Jersey Animal Rights Alliance, doors open at 6 p.m., event begins at 7:30 p.m., at East Brunswick High School, Cranbury Road. Admission is $6 and includes one sheet of tickets. All proceeds go to fund New Jersey Animal Rights Alliance programs aimed at ending animal suffering and abuse. (732) 446-6808.

• Christmas Bazaar, sponsored by St. Stanislaus Kostka HSA, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the school, 221 MacArthur Ave., Sayreville. Tricky tray, large and small raffles, wheels of chance, children's games, 50/50, photos with Santa. Kitchen opens at 10 a.m. for breakfast. • Gift-Wrapping Service, sponsored by East Brunswick Hadassah, to benefit all Hadassah projects, including medical research for a breast-cancer cure, during regular hours, at Brunswick Square Mall, Route 18, East Brunswick. For a nominal fee, gift items purchased from any store at the mall or elsewhere will be wrapped with seasonal or all-occasion papers and decorated with creative ribbon designs. Dec. 4

• Dinner Fundraiser at Friendly's, to benefit Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Awareness and Big Hearts to Little People, 5-9 p.m., Friendly's Restaurant, Ferry Road, Old Bridge. Diners should tell their server they are there to support CHD Awareness. The restaurant will donate 15 percent of each bill to Big Hearts to Little Hearts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for research in detecting, preventing and treating pediatric heart disease.

Dec. 5 & 6

• Clothing Drive, sponsored by Madison Park School PTA, 6-9 p.m., at the Madison Park Little League Field House, Cheesequake Road, Parlin section of Old Bridge, behind Madison Park Firehouse.
