3 homes burglarized in same day
SAYREVILLE - Burglars attempted to break in to three borough residences on Nov. 15.
A burglary was attempted at the 55th building of the Winding Woods apartment community, off Bordentown Avenue. An unknown suspect attempted to enter an apartment through a window sometime after 7 a.m. and before 5 p.m. Police observed damage to the screen of a bedroom window, as well as the door to the apartment, but the suspect or suspects failed to gain entry.
A burglary occurred at a home on Ernston Road sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., according to police. The resident returned to the residence to find the back door unlocked and damaged. All of the rooms in the house had been ransacked, and the suspect stole jewelry and several blank checks from the home.
A burglary took place at a Straton Court residence in Parlin sometime between 2 p.m. and 9:56 p.m. Nov. 15. The victim found the home in a state of disarray. The suspect or suspects tried unsuccessfully to pry open the screen of the rear window. The burglar or burglars ultimately forced the front door open, ransacked every room and took up to $1,200 in cash, according to the police report.
