Grateful for story celebrating daughter's life
Our family would like to thank staff writer Michael Acker for his poignant tribute to our beloved daughter, Sara, in the Oct. 4 issue of the Suburban.

We appreciate the heartfelt interviews with the staff, especially Sasha Zea and Karen Kartis, at the Colonial Diner in East Brunswick, where Sara worked as a hostess, and with Jean Kline, the principal at Sara's high school, Cardinal McCarrick, South Amboy. The article gave credence to what we already knew about our beautiful daughter - her innate goodness, intelligence, character, sense of humor and warm personality as evidenced by her ever-present smile. In our darkest hour, this article touched our hearts by demonstrating that others saw in our Sara what we already knew.

The article is framed and holds a place of honor in our home and in our hearts. We are thankful to Mr. Acker for writing an article that celebrates Sara's life and recognizes the effect she had on all she came in contact with. We know that we are not the only ones who are lost without her.
