George Vanderbilt Sr.

Mr. Vanderbilt, 86, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, died Nov. 17, 2007, in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a chief chemist with National Lead Co., Dutch Boy Paint division, Perth Amboy. His wife, Helen "Eleanor" Vanderbilt, died in 2001. He also was predeceased by a granddaughter, Tracy Stephens. Surviving are a son and daughterin law, George and Patricia Vanderbilt of Matawan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and John Thibaut of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge and Carol and Wally Stephens of Laurence Harbor; two brothers, Evart Vanderbilt of Hazlet and Robert Vanderbilt of Florida; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. A service was held at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Cremation was private.
