Grateful to supporters, proud to serve town
Let me begin by thanking all those who supported me and those who worked so hard on the campaign. I truly appreciate your efforts.

Being the fifth generation to raise a family here, I only wanted the best for Sayreville. Our children are very important to me, and the Recreation Department was the best way I could serve them. I also wanted to bring back a sense of community and a small-town feeling.

Together with Jerry Ust and the Recreation Advisory Board we accomplished some of this with the best Independence Day celebration ever. We now have movies in the park, bus trips and art classes. We added 25 new programs and brought in more than $200,000 in revenue. The borough has its own dog park and a Responsible Dog- Ownership Day. We were able to move forward with the Sayreville recreation complex phase II and were working on plans for possible recreational opportunities with landfill No. 3.

When I first took office I heard about an idea that Ken Kelly and Rich Kosmoski had regarding street signs for our veterans killed in action. I believe that our veterans deserve the best and that those who gave their lives should be recognized. The sacrifices they made are a very important part of our borough's history and should never be forgotten. Both my grandfathers and my grandmother served during World War II, my great-uncle fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and two of my great-grandfathers served in World War I. Unfortunately, there was one prototype sign, and the plans for the others sat in a back room for more than six years. This upset me very much; these men deserved better.

It was then I made it my duty to see these signs finally erected. I requested that the Borough Council pass a resolution to erect these signs, and I am very proud of this for all those who gave their lives for our country. I believe that this resolution should have been passed years ago, as these signs preserve our history as a borough and the memories of the soldiers who gave their lives for our country.

Again, it gives me great pride to serve this borough where I have lived all my life and my wife and I raise our family. Every decision I made I felt was in the best interest of Sayreville and its residents. Thank you for the opportunity to serve. It was a great experience.
