State should emulate feds by printing its own money
The alternative solution to monetize the state debt is for New Jersey to print its own currency. In the early days of our country, individual banks printed their own money supported by gold or silver holdings. Currently, our national government money supplies are federal reserve notes propped up by the printing presses. New Jersey should emulate the federal government by printing money backed up by the faith and integrity of our political system. Our currency should reflect our spending and taxing policies in Trenton. On the dollar bill will be an exit sign. The $5 bill will have Uncle Floyd. The $10 bill will show Lou Costello. The $20 bill will be Jerry Lewis. The $50 bill will have Jon Corzine smiling. And last, but surely not least, on the $100 bill will be Tony Soprano. You have a problem with that?
