Tickets available Jan. 4 for library puppetry fest

Two professional puppetry shows are planned for The East Brunswick Friends of the Library's eighth annual Phyllis Noar Puppetry Festival on Feb. 10 and 24 at the East Brunswick Library, Jean Walling Civic Center. Tickets will go on sale Jan. 4.

The Segal Puppet Theatre will offer "Go Fish" at 2 p.m. on Feb. 10 for families with children ages 3 and up. The Crabgrass Puppets will present "The Day It Snowed Tortillas," for families with children ages 5 and up, at 2 p.m. Feb. 24.

Tickets cost $2 for each puppet show and may be purchased only at the library circulation desk. Ticket buyers will be asked to fill out an order form available Jan. 4 at the circulation desk or at www.ebpl.org. Cash and checks made payable to the East Brunswick Friends of the Library will be accepted.

Age requirements will be strictly observed for both shows. Refunds will be given only if the program is canceled.

"Go Fish," based on the Grimm's fairytale "The Fisherman and His Wife," is a comical tale with music that is designed to gently teach a moral lesson. "The Day It Snowed Tortillas," a Mexican folktale about luck, love and lunch, will come to life with humor and music. The festival is sponsored by the Phyllis Noar Memorial Fund of the Friends of the Library to celebrate the life of the late library advocate and past president of the Friends.
