Joan Dahlberg Schmidt

Mrs. Schmidt, 79, of Spotswood, died Jan. 18, 2008, in Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota, Fla. Prior to her retirement, she was a home economics teacher at South River Middle School, where she worked for 18 years. A son, Fred Alexander Schmidt, died in 1978. Surviving are her husband, Bill; a daughter, Karen Peterson, and her husband,Wayne, of Franklin Lakes; two sons, Eric Schmidt, and his wife, Eileen, of Piscataway and Jonathan Schmidt, and his wife, Jennifer, of Hightstown; and six grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Brookside Cemetery, Spotswood. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Friends, P.O.
