'Tap City on Tour' to dance into Monroe

The Monroe Township Cultural Arts Commission will offer "Tony Waag's Tap City on Tour," presented by the American Tap Dance Foundation, at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23 at the Richard P. Marasco Center for the Performing Arts, Monroe Township High School, 1629 Perrineville Road.

The international cast of dancers includes veterans, soloists and up-andcoming talent. The program will include a blend of tap and song, showcasing different styles of legendary performances of tap dance, such as a cappella, soft shoe, comedy and classic. There will be tributes to MGM dance movies, Ann Miller, Gregory Hines, the Copasetics and more.

Tickets cost $15 for general admission, $12 for patrons; Monroe students will be admitted free of charge. Advance tickets are available at the Monroe Township Senior Center, 1 Municipal Plaza; at the Monroe Township Community Center, 120 Monmouth Road; and at the door two hours before the performance.
