EBJC schedule to feature events, simulcasts, gala

A variety of upcoming events are planned at the East Brunswick Jewish Center (EBJC), 511 Ryders Lane.

The schedule is as follows:

• Feb. 17 at 6:30 p.m. - Sleppin Jewish Law Series withAriMermelstein, "Authority and Jewish Law," free admission;

• Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m. - Sleppin Jewish Law Series with Ari Mermelstein, "Controversy in Jewish Law," free admission;

• Feb. 27, 7-10 p.m. - Private Spring Shopping Benefit at Denny's Childrenswear of Marlboro, $18 per ticket or $100 per event sponsor (includes four tickets and name listing), tickets not available at the door, call (732) 257-7070;

• Feb. 28 at 7:15 p.m. - Live from the 92nd Street Y simulcast featuring Richard Sonnenfeldt, chief interpreter for the American prosecution at the Nuremberg trials, discussing new information about the Nazi war criminals and the origins and development of the Holocaust, $18 per ticket, includes coffee and dessert;

• March 2 at 6:30 p.m.- Sleppin Jewish Law Series withAriMermelstein, "The Nature of Jewish Law," free admission;

• March 9 at 6:30 p.m.- Sleppin Jewish Law Series with Ari Mermelstein, "Jewish Law and Zionism," free admission;

• March 11 at 8 p.m. - Live from the 92nd Street Y simulcast featuring Dennis Prager, nationally syndicated radio talkshow host, $18 per ticket, includes coffee and dessert;

• March 15, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - EBJC's Golden Purim Gala featuring dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions and raffles, $54 per ticket, call (732) 257-7070;

• April 3 at 7:45 p.m. - Live from the 92nd Street Y simulcast featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Ellen Goodman in conversation with Lynn Sherr, correspondent forABC's "20/20," discussing the baby-boomer generation and how to find personal fulfillment when children are grown and other responsibilities have waned, $18 per ticket, includes coffee and dessert;

• April 28 at 8 p.m. - Live from the 92nd Street Y simulcast featuring Norman Lear, creator and producer of Emmy Award-winning television series including "All in the Family," "Maude," "Sanford and Son" and "The Jeffersons," $18 per ticket, includes coffee and dessert.
