Feb. 28-March 10

• Easter Babka, Pierogi, Blintzes and Chrusciki Sale, sponsored by St. Euphrosynia Belarusian Greek Orthodox Church, Whitehead Avenue, South River. Food pickup scheduled for 3-7 p.m. on March 20 at the church. Order deadline is March 10. Feb. 28-March 18

• Spring/Easter Food Drive, to benefit the Spotswood Food Bank, sponsored by the Spotswood High School Octagon Community Service Club. Donation boxes are in the main office at the high school, Summerhill Road, and in teacher Frank Yusko's room. Collected items will be delivered to the food bank on March 19. The pantry, which is operated by the Spotswood Senior Center and St. Peter's Church, Spotswood, helps to feed 85 local needy families and senior couples every month

Feb. 29

• Lucky Leap-Year Casino Night, sponsored by the Spotswood Education Foundation, 7-11 p.m., at Spotswood Knights of Columbus Hall, Crescent Avenue. Craps, roulette, black jack, poker games. Prizes include a flat-screen LCD television, barbecue grill, wine refrigerator, getaway packages, dining-out gift cards, spa treatments. Cost is $55 per person or $100 per couple; includes $100 in playing chips, free beer/wine/soda and coffee, hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, dessert buffet. Admission is free of charge to any individual whose birthday falls on the date of the event; proof required. The foundation awards grants to local schools for innovative programs. • Lenten Fish Dinners, sponsored by St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, 5-7 p.m., in St. Mary's School cafeteria, Jackson Street, South River. Dinners include fried fish, French fries, salad, coleslaw, bread, dessert, coffee, tea. Children's macaroniand cheese dinners available. Cost per dinner is $10 for adults, $3 for youngsters under age 12. Takeout orders available.

Fridays, Feb. 29-March 21

• Fish-Fry Dinners, sponsored by Jamesburg Elks Lodge No. 2180, doors open at 5 p.m., at the Elks lodge, 74 W. Railroad Ave. Dinners include broiled or fried seafood, salad bar, dessert. Takeout orders available. (732) 521-2180.

• Lenten Fish-Fry Dinners, sponsored by Our Lady of Victory Columbiettes, 4:30-7 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Victorian Hall, 775Washington Road, Parlin section of Sayreville. Fried and broiled dinners available. Telephone orders not accepted.

• Organic Fertilizer and Home- Cleaning Product Sale, featuring chemical free products, sponsored by the Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership, 9 a.m. to noon, at the group's headquarters building, 85 Washington Ave., Milltown. The nonprofit partnership, dedicated to the protection of the Lawrence Brook Watershed, encourages area residents to avoid the use of toxic lawn and garden products and cleaning liquids.
