Fundraisers
March 6

• McPrincipal Night, sponsored by Emma Arleth School, Parlin section of Sayreville, 5-8 p.m., at McDonald's, Route 9 north, Old Bridge. Principal Timothy Byrne and faculty members will serve participants. McDonald's will donate 10 percent of the evening's proceeds, dine-in and drive-through, to the school PTO for a new playground.

March 6-10

• Easter Babka, Pierogi, Blintzes and Chrusciki Sale, sponsored by St. Euphrosynia Belarusian Greek Orthodox Church, Whitehead Avenue, South River. Food pickup scheduled for 3-7 p.m. on March 20 at the church. Order deadline is March 10. March 6-15

• Easter Babka Sale, sponsored by St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society, South River. Cost is $9 per babka. Available varieties include poppy seed, prune, raisin, cheese, apricot and cheese, raspberry and cheese. Orders, with payment, may be given to any Rosarian in the Seniors Room after all weekend Masses at St. Mary's Church, Jackson Street, South River; left at the church rectory during business hours; or put in an envelope and dropped in the collection basket at the church. March 6-18

• Spring/Easter Food Drive, to benefit the Spotswood Food Bank, sponsored by the Spotswood High School Octagon Community Service Club. Donation boxes are in the main office at the high school, Summerhill Road, and in teacher Frank Yusko's room. Collected items will be delivered to the food bank on March 19. The pantry, which is operated by the Spotswood Senior Center and St. Peter's Church, Spotswood, helps feed 85 local needy families and senior couples every month.

March 7 & 14

• Lenten Fish Dinners, sponsored by St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, 5-7 p.m., in St. Mary's School cafeteria, Jackson Street, South River. Dinners include fried fish, French fries, salad, coleslaw, bread, dessert, coffee, tea. Children's macaroniand cheese dinners available. Cost per dinner is $10 for adults, $3 for youngsters under age 12. Takeout orders available.

• Lenten Fish-Fry Dinners, sponsored by St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Council No. 4815, 6-9 p.m., at the council home, 61 Pine St., off Route 18 south, Old Bridge. English-style, all-inclusive, fishand chips dinners. 50/50s. Takeouts available. • Organic Fertilizer and Home- Cleaning Product Sale, featuring chemical free products, sponsored by the Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership, 9 a.m. to noon, at the group's headquarters building, 85 Washington Ave., Milltown. The nonprofit partnership, dedicated to the protection of the Lawrence Brook Watershed, encourages area residents to avoid the use of toxic lawn and garden products and cleaning liquids. March 9

• Proceeds Night, sponsored by St. Stanislaus Kostka School, Sayreville, at TGI Friday's, Route 9 north, Old Bridge. Participants should tell their server they are there to support St. Stan's. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of each supporter's bill to the school.

March 13

• Bravest vs. Finest Charity Basketball Game, sponsored by Our Lady of Victories (OLV) Athletic Association, 7:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Victories Monsignor Dalton Hall, 42Main St., Sayreville. • Spaghetti Dinner, sponsored by the Friends of Alan and Doretta Skrynka, 5-8 p.m., at South Amboy Middle School/High School, Governor Hoffman Plaza.
