Transport volunteers sought at area hospital

PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital is seeking transport volunteers to staff the new facility in New Brunswick. Transport volunteers push children in wheelchairs, and walk with children in walkers to assigned therapies every half hour.

The positions are available Monday- Friday from 8:15-11:45 a.m. or 12:15-3:45 p.m. Volunteers must be age 16 or older; have physical stamina/ability to bend, push wheelchairs and briskly walk distances; be able to commit to the full 3 ½- hour shift, be dependable and reliable with attendance and have good customer service and interaction skills; and must complete an application and orientation process.

Volunteers must undergo a volunteer screening, application process and attend orientation. Volunteers must make an annual hourly commitment of a minimum of an hour of assistance weekly.
