Officer's small kindness helps ensure family's happy summer
The Old Bridge summer-recess program signups were in full swing recently, with hundreds of applicants waiting on line in the cold to guarantee their children a spot in the coveted program so that we parents can go to work all day to support our families.

While I was on line, I realized I had my daughter's original birth certificate and not the copy that was required for the township's records. The library was not yet open for me to go and make a copy, and I lived in fear of going somewhere to make the copy, despite assurances from the wonderful people surrounding me that they would save my spot on line.

I then got up close enough to see the Old Bridge Police Department entrance and decided the worst that could happen was that I couldn't get a copy made there. So I tried, and to my delight, I was met by Officer Mark Levine, who proceeded to make my copy and thus saved my family from what would have been a nightmare if my child had not gotten into the program.

So my thanks to you, Officer Levine, for doing something you probably thought was insignificant but meant the world to me and my family.

Barbara Mullins
