Police: Man arrested with knife at OBHS

OLD BRIDGE - Police arrested a 19- year-old man accused of showing up at Old Bridge High School with a knife.

Gregory Landix, 19, of Old Bridge, was charged with possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon with an unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon at a school, aggravated assault with a weapon, and criminal trespass.

Police said Landix went to the Route 516 school at 3:08 p.m. April 8, possibly to confront a student at the school. Police responded to the high school after receiving a report that a man with a knife was at the school and was in the administrative offices.

Officers arrested and processed him without incident, according to a police officer's report. No one was cut or injured in the incident, which took place after school had let out for the day.

Police recovered the knife, which they said Landix had in his shoe, with a blade of 3.5 inches in length.

The Detective Bureau is investigating the matter. Landix, who previously attended the high school, had not caused any disruptions at the school before, according to Capt. Robert Weiss of the Old Bridge Police Department.

"We have no indication that there is any gang activity involved in this incident," Weiss said. "This is considered an isolated case between individuals."
