Residents challenge letter writer's defense of Wisniewski
This is in response to Michael D'Addio's letter to the editor titled "Defends Wisniewski as Dedicated, Hardworking, Effective" that appeared in the April 3 issue of the Suburban.

Humorous is the word we would use to describe Mr. D'Addio's letter. He claims that Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D- 19) has a philosophy of hard work and strong leadership. Really, anything worth doing in politics is worth doing well, so that could be anyone's philosophy.

Mr. D'Addio also claims that he has never seen anyone work so hard for a political party or show such dedication.Well, Mr. D'Addio, Barbara Kilcomons did just that for the Democratic Party, as well as the committee people who helped Wisniewski get started in politics. It was she as the vice chairperson who did the typing until the wee hours of the morning, the phone calls, fliers, etc., and pushed to get out the Democratic word. How do we know this? Because we were there years ago, and you were not.

You also go on to say in your defense of Assemblyman Wisniewski that you and others go to him for advice. We believe you mentioned on a number of occasions that you have your own mind and don't need anyone else to make decisions for you.

Mike, we gave you more credit than this. We would like to know where Mrs. Kilcomons in her letter to the editor ("Resident Calls for Sayreville Democratic Chairman to Step Down," Suburban, March 20) spread any lies or innuendo. From what we read, we believe everything she wrote to be true.

As active and concerned residents of this community, we do get involved and contribute toward the betterment of our community. And don't get us started about the boards and commissions. No conflict of interest, said Lawrence Sachs, the Zoning Board attorney. What do you think? Assemblyman Wisniewski, attorney for building applicant Robert Downey, four committeemen of the Democratic Party voting in Downey's favor, and the Zoning Board attorney worked with Wisniewski in an office in East Brunswick - if that wasn't a setup for a win, we don't know what was. Mr. Downey got exactly what he wanted.

When we elect politicians, we expect that they will give 100 percent to their elected seat, and we will not accept anything less. But when they become controlling and power hungry, it's time to go.
