Suicide intervention, healing to be discussed

The Diocese of Metuchen and the New Jersey Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will co-sponsor a seminar titled "Suicide: A Compassionate Approach to Intervention and Healing" on April 30 at the St. John Neumann Pastoral Center, 146 Metlars Lane, Piscataway.

Participants may choose from the day session, set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (includes breakfast and lunch), or the evening session, set for 5-10 p.m. (includes dinner). Cost of each session is $15 per person.

Topics will include mental-health disorders, warning signs of suicide, mentalhealth referral protocol and pastoral counseling.
