'StrokeAlert!' screenings scheduled for May 16-23

The American Stroke Association will hold "StrokeAlert!" stroke risk screenings statewide May 16-23.

The assessments are designed to educate the public about stroke, its warning signs and risk factors, and preventative steps. Family history will be reviewed, personal risk factors discussed, and patients will receive assessments such as blood pressure and pulse checks.
