In praise of those who protect and serve in Old Bridge We had an individual fire multiple gunshots at our place of business. We called 911 and received an immediate response from the Sayreville and Old Bridges police departments. These fine men and women came to our office, and, with the utmost professional demeanor, conducted their investigation. Ultimately, it was determined that the Old Bridge Police Department would assume responsibility for this incident. Our staff members were never insecure about their safety, and business resumed almost immediately. We never had to question the course of the investigation - we were kept apprised of all information as it became available. The majority of interaction we have with our local police is regarding motor-vehicle and traffic enforcement and is not welcome. The fact is, when it truly matters, these professionals do protect and serve. We should remember and respect what an important part our local law enforcement plays in our community. I am humbled by the Old Bridge Township Police Department. The commitment to the residents and businesses in Old Bridge is evident in the way its members conduct themselves. I am indebted to these elite professionals. To show our appreciation for their exceptional service, we ask that our donation to the Policeman's Benevolent Association be accepted in the names of the following individuals: Detective Joseph Gougeon, Detective Michael Machen, Detective Michael Cronin, Detective Ron Nitto, Detective Glenn Smalley, Detective Richard Tulko, Capt. William Volkert, Lt. Colleen McNamara and Sgt. Steven Daroci. |
