Ethel Zion Karten

Mrs. Karten, 85, of Old Bridge, died April 26, 2008, at home. A professional singer, she was an adult-education voice teacher with the community schools in Old Bridge, South River and Spotswood, and performed with Plays-in-the-Park, Edison, and other community theaters. Surviving are two sons, Jonathan, and his wife, Kendal, of Old Bridge andDavid, and hiswife,Katherine, of Millbrook, N.Y.; a brother, Irving Zion of Florida; a sister, Ann Gover of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Beth Abraham Cemetery, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Simon Wiesenthal Center, 1399 S. Roxbury Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90035.
