Book Sale to benefit exhibits, programs

The East Brunswick Museum Corporation will host its fist Book Sale 1:30-4 p.m. Aug. 23 at the museum, 16 Maple St., in the Historic Village of Old Bridge, at the intersection of Main and Kossman streets and Old Bridge Turnpike, East Brunswick.

Hundreds of books will be available for sale. Event proceeds will benefit museum programs and future exhibits.

Donations of books, DVDs, CDs and other media are being accepted. Call the museum at 732-257-1508 to arrange to drop off items.

Visitors to the museum may tour the current exhibit, "Through the Eyes of an Artist: The Art and Artists of East Brunswick." The exhibition, which will run through October, includes works of art, the story behind the art and a narrative of the artists. Through a display of original paintings and personal possessions of the artists, the installation examines more than 200 years of East Brunswick history. Objects and artifacts that have never been exhibited are part of the display.

Regular museum hours are 1:30-4 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays. Members of the public are invited to become new museum members.
