Josephine Billand Nowell

Mrs. Nowell, 81, of the Parlin section of Old Bridge, died Nov. 21, 2008, at home. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an aerobics instructor for more than 10 years at the Parlin YMCA. Her husband, John M., died in 1992. Surviving are three sons, Michael, and his wife, Sheryl, of Hopatcong, Stephen, and his wife, Doreen, of Sayreville and Mark, and his wife, Lisa, of Tewksbury; two brothers, William Billand of Montville and Jessie Billand of the Whiting section of Manchester; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette's Church, Parlin. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Arrangements were under the direction of Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville. Memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice of New Jersey.
