Post-traumatic stress to be discussed Nov. 1

Congregation Beth Ohr, 70 Route 516, Old Bridge, will honor those who have served the United States and remember the POWs and MIAs who have sacrificed for their country in an event planned for Nov. 1.

Keynote speaker will be Richard Dvorin, who has 30 years of service with the New Brunswick and Old Bridge police departments and is the father of Lt. Seth Dvorin, U.S. Army, who was killed in action Feb. 3, 2004, while serving in Iraq.

Richard Dvorin, a veterans counselor and caseworker for New Jersey Veterans Helpline, will offer a presentation on posttraumatic stress disorder.

Lt. Dvorin, the recipient of a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and a Combat Action Badge, was honored by the state of New Jersey when he was posthumously awarded a Distinguished Service Medal with a V for Valor.

For more information on the event, call the temple at 732-257-1523.
