      Russian culture, music set at library

      A three-part series on the history, culture and music of Russia is planned at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.

      "Russia: A Long and Complex History — A Rich and Vibrant Culture" is set for 7-8 p.m. Nov. 23. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

      Balalaika virtuoso Oleg Kruglyakov and pianist Terry Boyarsky will collaborate for a show that draws from Russian folk music, romances, dances, classical music and more, at 7 p.m. Nov. 28. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

      "An Evening of Grand Opera" with the Allegro Singers, featuring baritone Valeriy Dimov from the State Moldova Opera House and winner of the International Glinka Competition, will take place 7 p.m. Dec. 5. Other performers will include guest artist Evelyn Santiago Schultz, soprano; Inna Leytush, piano; and Dan Bellucci, narrator. The concert is sponsored by the East Brunswick Arts Commission and the Friends of the Library.
